چکیده

The main purpose of the paper is to present the results of probabilistic homogenization of the fiber-reinforced composites with stochastic interface defects. The mathematical model of the composite is based on the interphase containing all interface defects which are averaged within this region. Next, the effective modules method is applied to compute the effective thermoelastic characteristics of the composite. The probabilistic characteristics of the homogenized material properties tensor are obtained using the Monte-Carlo simulation technique linked with the Finite Element Method based program. Some further developments of the approach presented finishing the paper.

Some approaches to modeling of the effective properties for thermoelastic composites

The work deals with the modeling of thermoelastic composites with regular and irregular structures. The approaches to the modeling of the effective properties include the construction of the representative volumes with account for microstructure, the effective moduli method for the mechanics of composites, and the finite element technologies for solving the problems for the representative volumes.

Investigation of Vacancy Defects on the Young’s Modulus of Carbon Nanotube Reinforced Composites in Axial Direction via a Multiscale Modeling Approach

In this article, the influence of various vacancy defects on the Young’s modulus of carbon nanotube (CNT) - reinforcement polymer composite in the axial direction is investigated via a structural model in ANSYS software. Their high strength can be affected by the presence of defects in the nanotubes used as reinforcements in practical nanocomposites. Molecular structural mechanics (MSM)/finite ...

Wave Propagation at an Interface of Elastic and Microstretch Thermoelastic Solids with Microtemperatures

In the present paper, the problem of reflection and transmission of waves at an interface of elastic and microstretch thermoelastic solids with microtemperatureshas been studied. The amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves are functions of angle of incidence and frequency of incident wave. The expressions of amplitude ratios have been computed numerically for a particular mo...

Identification of the source of the thermoelastic response from orthotropic laminated composites

In previous work, a series of theoretical considerations have been made aimed at identifying the source and assessing prominent factors influencing the thermoelastic response from laminated composites. In this paper four different methods of interpreting the data are investigated and the theoretical thermoelastic response is compared to experimental data to identify the source of the thermoelas...

Wave Propagation at the Boundary Surface of Inviscid Fluid Half-Space and Thermoelastic Diffusion Solid Half-Space with Dual-Phase-Lag Models

The present investigation deals  with the reflection and transmission phenomenon due to incident plane longitudinal wave at a plane interface between inviscid fluid half-space and a thermoelastic diffusion solid half-space with dual-phase-lag heat transfer (DPLT) and dual-phase-lag diffusion (DPLD) models. The theory of thermoelasticity with dual-phase-lag heat transfer developed by Roychoudhar...
